The scanner is essentially a small camera which captures multiple high resolution photographs to produce a 3 Dimensional image of the teeth and soft tissues,accurate to 10.9um.

A mouthguard is designed to minimise damage to the teeth, soft tissues and greatly reduces risk of concussion. Any force/impact strong enough, can cause injury, or permanent damage to the teeth and soft tissues. By choosing to wear a mouthguard you dramatically reduce the potential for more extensive injuries, compared to not wearing one, or wearing a poor fitting one.
